Widgy Widgets version 3.0 Release Notes
Major additions:
• Live Activities widgets
• Dynamic Island widgets
• Watchy Complications (including corner and inline complications)
• Open Any Widget In "Picture In Picture" mode
• Use the app badge as a new way to display information
Improvements:
• Redesigned widget size picked
• New smaller UI buttons for not-so-important actions
• Added vertical text line mode option
• Added weather temperature data that's always in C or F
• When changing the widget type in the editor, or importing a widget of a different type than the currently selected tab, the app automatically switches to the correct tab
• During onboarding, if a user doesn't pick any custom icon, force auto picking of the default icon, just to nudge iOS to list Widgy in the widget apps list
• New default sizes for all layers, manually measured for each widget size
• The Manage tab now throws a warning if using high-quality transparency
• All document tab properties now ask for a password, if the password is present
• Clear Cache option should now also try to clear the Safari cache
• Improved theming color handling
• Reddit browser can now display crossposts
• Improved calculations for stretching effect
• Apple Gauge got a Unicode remapping option (this is useful for corner complications since they can't have a custom font)
• When editing text data color, X is now replaced with a trash can, so it can better signalize that you can delete a text data color
• Added document tab option to disable widget refresh
• Updated design for empty widgets
• Added Zodiac signs to date text data
• Added "Current Heavenly Stem" and "Current Earthly Branch" to date text data (Chinese people use that)
• Image from URL now supports local files, so you can hardcode URLs to some system files
• Color and Gradient picker now has Alpha/Angle as a button for a finer control and manual input
• Added a few more 3rd party apps to tap actions list
• Updated Czech name days
• Added "Trim" and "Replace Text" options to the text layer
• Text countdowns can now use different time zones
• Widget editor top navigation subtitle now displaying memory usage of images
• Group layers are now colored in permanent random color, to differentiate them better
• When duplicating a layer, if that layer is part of some button, make the duplicated layer part of that button as well (works with groups as well)
• Widgy/Watchy settings now have a Health sources option, similar to Agenda sources; but for Health
• Revamped the in-app purchases
• New community-driven localizations and some improvements to older ones
Bug fixes:
• Hide the Tap action vibration options on iPad and macOS
• Assigned widgets with no visible layers shouldn't display the "Tap to assign" message anymore
• Updated horoscope endpoint
• Fixed crypto charts
• More precise altitude reporting
• Fix for Font Awesome Brands not appearing in search results
• Fix for the initial onboarding not being displayed
• Fixed a button typo on the QR scan screen
• Sync to watch should not throw an unknown error if some of the widget images can't be fetched
• Improved handling of Lock Screen widgets in app thumbnails
• Map screenshot now switching properly between dark and light mode
• Web screenshot picker got a fix that disables zooming since that was the intended behaviour
• Renamed "sort" in the create tab to "sort & filter"
• Screen brightness data now returns the last non-zero value when the device is locked
• Fixed a bug that made some data unavailable to the Apple Gauge layer
