Camera2 1.1.3 is all about quality and performance. We are very grateful to our nice customers who took the time to share their thoughts and experience with us. Please, keep it going so we can make the app the best it can be. The most important changes in this release are:
Vastly improved the performance of thumbnail generation. Going from the camera to the Lightbox after a long shooting session no longer requires you to stare at a screenful of rendering thumbnails for half a minute. Your photos should be ready for editing or sharing almost instantaneously. All formats have been improved, but you'll notice it the most when using HEIF or JPEG. TIFF is a bit slower than the others those files are huge and heavy to process.
Increased the strength of the grid a tad more. It was still hard to see on top of certain backgrounds.
Fixed Portrait photos not being saved in some situations, when the app was configured to save to the Camera Roll.
Saving was sometimes generating a JPEG version of the photo even if the original was HEIF or TIFF.
Fixed a long-standing bug in the iPad: a multitasking error was mistakenly presented to the user, if they had advanced controls configured to Always On. This one was hard to diagnose.
Fixed scrolling of zoomed photos in landscape mode, in iPhone devices.
Made sure that the icons in the multilayer filter interface always reflect the right preview.
Added diagnostics code (and prevented crashing) for one report where the user was attempting to save a photo without an associated image. This doesn't fix the problem, but hopefully it will allow us to identify what the problem might have been.
