  1. Capitol Call v3.3.8 (Latest Version)

    ► Updated: July 6, 2020

    ► What's New in Version 3.3.8:

In 3.3.8, we've fixed a number of issues related to contacting 3rd party data providers which caused reps not to show for many users. These problems have been addressed allowing you to once again put your passion to action by being heard.

    ---

The murder of George Floyd on May 25th at the hands of the Minneapolis police department has sparked a wave of protests across the nation calling for racial justice and renewed scrutiny of policing tactics and the systemic issues in the criminal justice system. It is times like these that we must all ask ourselves tough questions about whether we are living the values we claim to believe in and seek to better ourselves - and our country - when we find we are coming up short.

What many have assumed about Capitol Call is that it is the product of a well-funded liberal political operation - but this is in fact not the case. This is a personal passion project of a single individual. And as an expectant father and small business owner, there are times that my personal and professional commitments pull me away for longer than I anticipate or hope. Unfortunately, as I worked to secure my business during the Covid-19 pandemic, it meant that Capitol Call was not receiving proper maintenance, upgrades, or community engagement.

However as I was asking myself those tough questions above about whether I was doing enough to support my fellow citizens of color - I was reminded that supporting Capitol Call is one of the things I can do. This is my small part – to use my talents to provide a platform for the voices that have not been heard. And then to listen. And really hear – even when it's uncomfortable. As someone who has never had the experience of being Black in America – I have the privilege that the color of my skin has not dictated the struggles I face. I cannot fully appreciate the frequent (justifiable) anger, sorrow, or fear that many people of color face in this country and so I ask that if this tool can be of service to you in voicing your experience – please use it – and know that behind you and beside you, you have me, and many others, that can say without equivocation that #BlackLivesMatter.
