I have only played the introductory Free Game so far, but I have decided to go ahead and purchase Queen of Shadows. You play the Royal Detective, and you have been summoned by the Princess, a winsome child. She and her mother were recently reunited, then ripped asunder by evil magic! What a quandary! She goes with you to try to find her mother. Along the way, of course, you find many magical objects and odd creatures. There is a good Teleporting Map, which helps. The Hint button, a friendly skull, mostly gives directional arrows only. The Hidden Object scenes are well labeled and relatively easy to find. You can always ask the Skull, who will circle the missing piece. An extra incentive is collecting the Morphing Dragons, who turn into objects like a shoe or a plant. The reason that I have for giving only four stars is twofold. First, the Free game is extremely short, about ten minutes of play time. Second, some of the tasks could use more explanation. I became quite frustrated as I encountered five different areas that just said "This area is protected by a magic curse." I finally found the Magical Gauntlet, which erased all five curses. It would have been nice to know that the gauntlet existed! Otherwise, I am intrigued with the game so far. Hope you like it, too!
