Like Kairosoft's other titles, Bonbon Cakery has a lot going for it, and is deceptively deep. It has a great deal of charm and detail put into the game (such as customers using umbrellas when it rains) and all the usual Kairosoft goodness to be expected: with satisfying upgrades, a fun sweets crafting system, and addicting habits of leveling up staff and items until you're at the top of your game. For a newbie to Kairosoft, this isn't a bad choice for an addicting free sample.But the freemium aspect does hold it back. Like in Beastie Bay and Dream House Days, the cost of free entry is made up for in advertisements and tickets. You earn tickets by playing in real time, but the process slows down a game that is already slow. And there doesn't even appear to be an option to remove ads, at least not yet.Like the the freemium titles Kairosoft presented, this game has a lot to it, and, like all their games, is a lot deeper than you'd think, but in the end it comes up a bit short on satisfying one's "Kairosoft sweet tooth", and would have been better as a paid game. But for a free title, it's definitely worth picking up.
